Would you look at those loaded Chicken Tacos! It is seriously SO HARD to find an impressive cafe in the west and it’s been a while since we’ve actually been able to recommend one! @85espresso We went in not knowing what to get and ended up loving every element of every dish and drink we were served! Definitely get your hands dirty with their giant chicken tacos - a generous serving of perfectly crispy southern fried chicken tenders matched with jalapeño & corn coleslaw; this was hands down the crowd favourite Be sure to order some Buttermilk Hotcakes to share! It’s sweet, tart, fresh and crunchy - considerate of all the textures and flavours you’re after if you have a sweet tooth like us It is a family owned cafe who’s hospitality not only to us but to their everyday customers is evidently such a happy and positive experience!

I walked into 85 Espresso on my very first day of a month-long stay in Spotswood… and ended up coming back every single day. This place is something special. A passionate team of young people (mind you, they’re only around 25!) serving exceptional coffee and breakfast to the local community. But what truly sets them apart is the genuine connection they build. They know their regulars by name and not as a customer service gimmick, but because they genuinely care. Ricky and Jason are especially passionate and curious when it comes to flavor, always experimenting, learning, and generously sharing their discoveries with anyone interested. For me, it became a home away from home. Always welcoming, always warm, always worth the stop. Ricky knew my oat flat white order by day three, Tracy never let me leave without a smile, and Jason ordered for me the Santuario Project single origin Colombian coffee. Never in my life had I tasted a cup with notes of strawberry, hard candy, stone fruit, and sweet herbs. Little and special moments like these made each morning feel like catching up with friends. Found this cafe online and was very happy with their food and service. We ordered the buttermilk hotcakes, eggs on toast for the toddler and chicken tacos. Everything was as good as it looked. I had the chicken tacos and it was delicious. Full of flavour; zesty, zingy and crispy. We also loved the layout of the shop, it has a large doorway that opens out to the street. It was a beautiful day and we could easily walk up and down the street with my toddler until food was ready. The staff were also very friendly and made us feel so comfortable. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area.

My new favourite place in Spotswood . Everyone was really friendly, and chef made me a dwlicioius vegan focaccia because they were out of vegan options. Check out the coffee art. Such a cute place, highly recommend!

I recently visited this café and was really impressed. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed—clearly made with quality beans and care. The food was just as good: fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. You can tell a lot of thought goes into the menu. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were friendly without being overbearing. It’s the kind of place you can relax with a good meal or get some work done with a great cup of coffee. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates good food and even better coffee!
